Congratulations to the Boys Cross-Country team who qualified for the
FHSAA Regional Championship this Saturday. The boys edged out Tallahassee Lincoln by 7
points to qualify. Sophomore Dominic Williams ran his top time finishing first for the Generals and fourth overall in 16:12 for the 5k race and a National Elite performance. Williams proved too much for Senior Rayford James, who was beaten by Dominic for only the second time this season. James finished second for the Generals and 11th overall with a 16:34. Continuing his move up the top times list Freshman Ky're Griffis made a huge impact for the Generals with a 17:56 performance, placing him 8th all-time. Finishing out strong for the Generals Regional Championship qualifying team were Buay Deng (18:53.78), John Hutton (19:10.98), Kris Small (19:38.04), and Chris Curry (19:42.81). Of note, Buay's performance moved him to 21st all-time for Lee High School Cross-Country.
On the girls side Seana Edwards posted the fastest
time of the season, a 23:58 for the 5K. Edwards' performance moves her to 4th all-time for the lady's cross-country program. Also competing for the Lady Generals were Brenee Cummings (26:18.48), who improved her personal best by almost 30 seconds, and Creshanda Foy (33:28.59).
